Pros

Compensation Potential. Bonuses, referrals, gas card company vehicles. Elite programs/Ski vacations/cruises COE. Open communication. Partnerships w/ Ambit, Comcast, and Costco, Amazon, Digital Channels, etc. make easy money. Referrals are easy if you are curious enough to learn how to make an impact. Promotions and Growth. Benefits. Per diem meals. Always something to do. Every hour is an adventure!

Cons

60hr plus work week, well, not really a Con if you are making money and love what your doing. But money is not everything. Many employees don’t know their full potential. Hypocrisy with the values is the biggest Con. (Pulse)This makes meetings loose value and work very difficult. Many in upper management were retained from REC days and they are archaic. Qualifications were not scrutinized the way they are today. They have not evolved with modern skill sets to drive the business forward. Digital marketing departments are a year behind and efficient logistical implementation of PV delivery through entire chain is way behind other modern successful models. Lack of strategic oversight at the VP level has led to a culture of compartmentalization at Director and Branch levels, resulting in high cancellations before PTO and counter effective intra-organizational communication. Many in my circle share similar notions.

Pros

Clean energy is a good thing.

Cons

Terrible leadership; dishonest, incompetent, and unethical. The company is “cooking the books” and misleading it’s shareholders while burning cash. Lower and middle managers are uninspired, traditional elitist, authoritarian style bosses that you hate to work for. Sunrun claims to be “human centered “ towards their employees but it’s only if you are a manager. It’s a hamburgers and sports culture in a clean energy company. Leadership doesn’t address issues or concerns and will make your life more difficult if you say anything. Hiring and promotion practices are disgusting; positions go to bosses personal friends, people who haven’t been there very long, and those that don’t question. If you are there because you actually care about the environment then it’s the wrong place for you; your coworkers don’t and will resent you for it. Coworkers will abuse your time and harm you to fake their own numbers. Struggles between departments are unreal and nobody is focused on the real goal (solar installations) but are more interested in “sales” and managers bonuses tied to numbers which are then inflated to mislead investors.
