Dying culture turning toxic

Pros

1. Core benefits included, stock purchase plan and 401k…but, only 1% match 2. Non-management staff work hard and try to improve things; small handful of managers too 3. Remote work mostly for everyone 4. Unlimited time off, but you wont get to use it too much

Cons

1. The culture has become toxic over the last two years; opinions, engagement and even facts are not encouraged if it goes against the fantasy of management 2. Lots and lots of layoffs over the last few years; they call it “restructuring” every time they’ve done it but they “restructure” every few months and lost hundreds of people 3. Sad business model that is dying due to higher interest rates and a horrible customer experience 4. Inexperienced management and very poor project management 5. Very bad career development opportunity unless you are friends with someone higher up in the org chart. This is worth stressing, the development opportunities are truly awful and mostly non-existent

Pros

You have the potential to make a lot of money on commissions. I've met several people who have made over $1m in a year. More realistically, $100-300k a year if you put in time without even really honing your craft. The product is a really great product. The consumer really saves money with the Purchase Power Agreement with the only drawback being that they have solar panels on their roof now. You can sell the product knowing you're helping the customer.

Cons

They lie often. The staff tries to jump around your questions when you confront them on lies and split hairs about moral and ethical decisions and actions. If they purposely mislead employees and customers then they are flat out lying. The $4,000 bonus when entering the company, the $350 ipad purchase reimbursement (they require you to own an iPad and they claim other operating systems do not work with their sales system), and the $150 phone reimbursement are all lies. You CAN receive $4,000 over your first 8 weeks of you meet certain milestones, but it is not a bonus and that money "includes" the reimbursement. The sales managers teach sales representatives to mislead customers. At least one manager takes candid photos of customers without their knowledge to use for "training" purposes in classes with representatives and laughs at these customers openly. Almost all the sales tactics they teach are unethical. They openly encourage you to use half-truths in sales pitches and to manipulate customers.
