Pros

You get discounted EV charging at their warehouse building. They have a great product for their market but the cons just outweigh everything. You get experience here but don't plan on staying after a year plus.

Cons

No 401K employer match Office politics are heavy depending on which team you are on. They will actively try to hinder your job despite being the ones who hired you. Incredibly antiquated way of doing things (ex. having to personally walk to C-Suite leadership to get a signature instead of emailing.) A tech company that uses outdated procedures. Intense Taiwanese style of company culture. Hard to adapt to if you are not used to that. Overall, you can do much better for yourself by applying at any other tech company in the area.

Pros

Hyper Growth Business with AI technology embedded in the data center server. The Company has a lot of potential, just need to do some management change in different parts of the organization.

Cons

It's unfortunate, the company is a great company and has an excellent product, but two of the top HR leaders at SMC are awful, discriminate, don't know basic HR processes and do not want to make any improvements for the benefit of SMC. Not sure where to begin but from my observation and working with them on my own hiring and department challenges, here is the list: 1. Don't understand the business and the technology so can'[t help with the department challenges, there is 0 HRBP concept at this organization 2. Leads the HR team, hiring managers and department heads with confusion, have their own twisted way to terminate what HR calls "low performers" 3. Doesn't follow standard best HR practices 4. Lies to top management, department heads by twisting the stories to save themselves 5. Doesn't understand how to measure performance, have a very poor annual performance review process that is out dated and painful 6. Doesn't know how to do workforce planning, don't expect to hire good candidates, HR Leader rejects mots of them. 7. Doesn't have a clue about the compensation and how to hire and retain top talent. bonus doesn't exists, pay is on the lower end of the market and some times below market 8. Obviously doesn't care about branding and to fix glassdoor rating 9. Doesn't make any effort to improve company culture and retain employees. 10. I know the head of HR abuses her own team, witnessed it with my own eyes. Hearing the yelling from her office. A lot of good HR leaders who joined the company left under this HR Leadership and more are looking to leave. Toxic department at its highest
