Pros

The people I work with are phenomenal. Dogs come and make our day better on Friday.

Cons

The company is dog poop. They expect you to work very long hours and pay you like you work at McDonalds. Every day I wake up and think to myself, "is today the day I quit." This place is a disaster, I honestly don't see how its managed to keep growing while losing core employees. The President has an ego you can smell from the building next door.

Thank you for taking the time to comment and for mentioning our "Dog Friendly" environment, Allowing employees to bring their dogs to the office is one of the many things Surya does for its employees' well-being. A key initiative for 2015 is to understand and provide direction for each job and each employee company wide. We have taken steps, but I agree; we have a long way to go. As a current employee, you are always welcome to chat with your HR team.

Pros

You can get cheap stuff at the sample sales. There is an excellent food truck in the parking lot.

Cons

There are so too many to mention. The pay is below market average because leadership thinks everyone should be paid "Calhoun" wages. The insurance and benefits are horrible. The CEO forces employees to support foreign charities while not taking care of his own core employees. Also, if you are a young women, some of the department heads treat the workplace like it is a dating service. Very shady treatment.

I'll pass along your compliment on the food truck; We don't hear that often! We know at Surya that we must do a better job planning our compensation ranges to continue to attract top talent. Regarding your charity comment, it is simply untrue. Surya strives to positively impact the environment, society, and the communities in which we operate. Yes, once per year, any employee who chooses to may team up with other colleagues and compete to see who can raise the most money for a charity that helps feed and educate children in India. Surya is also proud to help stock the shelves of the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, which distributes healthy food to residents throughout NW Georgia and Tennessee. We sponsor the Veteran Pain Program, an initiative that provides medical grants to U.S. Military Veterans, and once again this year, Surya will partner with the National Breast Cancer Foundation to help increase awareness of breast cancer and the need for early detection and treatment.

Thank you for the advice. We are proud of the employee benefits we offer, like the Van-pool, discounts on all Surya products, plus medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
