Pros

No Pros to discuss. Alot of Cons to talk about.

Cons

My batch was hired on February, with many benefits promised by Talent Acquisition. Upon joining, the work/life balance was found to be basically non-existent. Peers are disgruntled and have made it known, but no action was taken. We had just been informed that the project is ramping down less than 2 months after joining. This was already made known to higher management, and we were basically hired as scapegoats. HR has informed that no redeployment would be available, and are not willing to discuss other options. Tone-deaf 1-1 session where they informed us that locals would easily be able to find other opportunities. Many offers were turned down due to what was promised by this firm with regards to benefits and job stability, only to be told we are basically on our own, finding another opportunity.

Pros

It was about two years ago when I was encouraged to apply for a new role with a different team (our client) for a fixed period of time. I cleared the interview and joined the team as a Sr. Quality Analyst. While every day came with its own challenges in handling day-to-day tasks, I was very happy to see how steep my learning curve was. I also had the opportunity to contribute to and lead some major quality projects. With the mentoring and guidance of my then manager, I was able to define what I want to be in the next five years—a Project Lead. Yes!!!! I am now on a mission to get PMP certified very soon. Now that I am back with my original team, I have been promoted to a role that was assured to me upon my return. While I was strengthening my place in the company, my personal life was also flourishing. I’m soooo close to getting my own place—full of plants, ducks, cats, and of course, my son :)

Cons

The role was very specialized, with clear ownership, which meant there wasn’t much direct competition or overlap with teammates.
