Pros

The best reasons to work for Sutherland is that you can use the time to research other things on the web and find another job. If you are smart, you won't waste your time waiting between calls, but try to further yourself by either looking for a better job, reading a book, or simply utilize the computer to your advantage. It is a great way to be payed for doing your own business but with constant interruptions by annoying callers who think that their insignificant issues are catastrophes to the world. You can do your nails, go to cnn.com, learn about the economy, politics, shop on line, eat at your desk, etc. Basically, if you have anything that requires you to sit down and do, take it to Sutherlands and do it there, that way you are also using your time to do it and having Mr. Dilip R. Vellodi pay you for doing so. Another reason Sutherland is a great place to work, it allows people with little or no education to be trained and be given a sense of high self-esteem because they have mastered a three week course. You are basically left alone to work.

Cons

the downsides of sutherlands is that 1) Very poor pay, long hours 2) Clueless supervisors 3) Treats employees as machines 4) Supervisors believe they are apostles of a higher being 5) Pays little, but somehow believes every employee should pay for their little charity contributions, when the employees are in need of those charities 6) The company prides itself in thinking out of the box, yet train their employees to be very inflexible of any issue pertaining to the employee 7) Upper management is clearly ran by a some sort of nepotism. 8) Part-time is the worst status for any employee. No one should stay past 6 months to 1 year, because you will be wasting your precious time working under someone while they are enjoying leisure time at your expense.

Pros

Great if you want to W@H, but really hard to follow the training. It takes forever to get an answer from the higher ups. You really need to ask most of your questions during the orientation while you have their attention.

Cons

So hard to get an answer to emails from supervisors.

Pros

Work from home position. So you do get to work from home which is an advantage. No commute. I really can not think of anything else positive to say other than the people were very nice. Even though they were generally clueless and unable to resolve most issues without constant prompting.

Cons

Very poorly organized training. Lots of technical issues. Its sad there on site employees get US tech support but the Work at home program gets tech support from India. Very poor communication, the techs have no clue about the needs of work at home workers. Very slow to get the necessary tools to employee to train. In some cases taking the first two weeks of trainig before you get any access to the system to even begin training. Training was designed for in classroom and not remote self paced learning. NO support in the way of the training for new employees. This is a start up program with work at home that is maybe six months old. So far it appears its horrible and they are just paying people to train. Wages are very low at $8.50 an hour for a 20-29 hr per week job. They expect you to train 40 hrs a week because it takes them the first two weeks of a four week training cycle to even get you your tools to begin training.
