      Don't care about non-clinical staff - Numerous layoffs & dumping employees

      Pros

      Benefits, however you have to pay for them. Work for home option for numerous non-clinical positions.

      Cons

      Continuous layoffs of non-clinical employees. Transferred +1200 employees to another company without advanced notice to a company that is known to move jobs off-shore to India. No career advancement.

      Dedicated staff in the trenches who care about patients.

      Cons

      Senior leadership (especially CIO) does not heed guidance and advice of seasoned leaders. This has driven a high volume of turnover and impacted the business. This type of poor leadership and culture has caused exceptional individual contributors leaders to leave a once well run organization.

      Pros

      The clinical care team are dedicated and try really hard to care for their patients.

      Cons

      Leadership at Sutter is essentially rudderless and they have no idea what to do and change course every year or other year. They never follow through. The DIE program has taken over and if you are part of a unfavored class (white male) expect overt discrimination on many fronts. Sutter has severe issues - Legal, financial, managerial - and it's continued survival as a single health care system is seriously in doubt.
