      Every place has its ups and downs

      Pros

      Great location, big hospital with a lot of different specialties, competitive pay, great healthcare benefits, excellent 403b plan, etc.

      Cons

      Not a lot of incentive for staff retention, don't get a bonus until the 5th year and it's around $100 after taxes, for nurse's week you get a stale granola bar.

      Pros

      In general, people working at Sutter Health are amazing and committed to doing great things. Patient care is at the center of everything folks do here and I see people go above and beyond every day with VERY little genuine praise from their leaders.

      Cons

      "Leadership" is an over utilized term here and often, don't listen to their own experts/staff, wasting money on consultants and external knowledge. Very little empowerment and many at the top are only concerned about doing things their way and not what's best for the entire system.
