Pros
I love my coworkers and the department I work for. Very supportive work environment with plenty of opportunity for growth. Cooperation -minded team focused on patient outcomes and experience. Pay is a little on the low end compared to some employers for Biomed, but it's still fair. Good benefits with health, life, and dental insurance, and matching 401K. Tuition assistance. Leadership does it's best to listen, with a boots on the ground approach. Supervisors tend to be good listeners, and show a degree of flexibility, as long as what is proposed still benefits the organization.
Cons
The takeover by Providence St. Joseph has been rough, and poorly implemented, with structure being put in place from "the top down" instead of ground up. Some very random layoffs, lack of tools, and very poor workflow policies with lack of effective business organization have resulted. Project planning is abysmally bad here, regardless of the project or department, and the physical layout and construction of the hospital complex is a total mess.
