Pros

Some good people were working with me while management slowly ran all of them out.

Cons

No incentives, disgustingly obvious nepotism. Shielding of poor performing managers that have connections. No accountability for management. Just suits telling other suits to crack the whip on us.

Pros

only pro is your coworkers if you're lucky to find good people there

Cons

Unreasonable metrics and goals, unnecessaroly complicated outdated processes, management just does whatever they want and impede people actually working. They push you to see providers at Swedish for your own medical care. No decent raises, new employees make a lot more than the ones that have been there for longer.

Pros

Got to understand if healthcare was a good fit for me.

Cons

And it was not. In a specialty care clinic, I saw staff who cared and others who did the bare minimum. Frustration and bias against low income patients. One particularly troubling policy was collections at appointment check-in. "How do you wish to pay for your balance today?" Staff were financially incentivised to collect balances. The impact was making low income patients feel uncomfortable and seek care elsewhere. I heard transphobic comments from providers and support staff. The anti-trans policies and behaviors with Providence swedish have been documented in the press now. Care was not delivered well to all patients. The dance between insurance and healthcare systems makes the context of healthcare daunting and soul crushing.
