Pros

Good academy, ok mentor program, good team pay. (I averaged $1300 a week right out of the academy), good equipment. (I was given a truck that was 6 months old right out of the academy) good driver leader that kept us busy (about 2500 miles a week) and good home time (stayed out 17-18 days and took 4 off). All trip planners and driver leaders are previous drivers.

Cons

Percentage of drop and hook loads is much lower than the advertised 90%. Any time you put your truck in a swift shop it takes way longer than it should

Pros

I been working for swift 3 years as GLR(regional) driver and I am home every weekends. If you are professional driver you should know that all company's are slightly the same in terms of pay and there is absolutely no company just throwing away money, so I'm not going to say swifts pay is best but I will say it pays my bills and I have some left overs on my every weeks check. They have lots of milles no matter where you live in the country and as driver one thing you have to look before joining any company is just look around how many of trucks/trailers are there. There are tons of swift trucks everywhere and that means my friend it's money and you are moving constantly.

Cons

I wish swift had one core policy's instead of all its terminals making their own policy's and it's really a a issue and the management really don't care. The mileage pay is good but they dont pay practical milles so there is a day's you could be driving 700 milles but you really get paid only 650. Some terminal staff want to argue when driver call in for help and they want to be the correct one at all the times and they won't let driver talk first, again this is a few terminal issues and it's not as whole company. Swift needs to take over and all terminals and lead the business other ways drivers will keep changing terminals or their DMs

Pros

Swift had a great training program to obtain CDL. The instructors and the other students were just great and I felt right at home.

Cons

The driver mentors weren't great. My mentor -- not great. He was a screamer that kept me on edge all the time. Not great as a partner either. He left me at a truck stop all night while he met with someone of the female persuasion.
