Pros

Seems like a good job until you actually start working there.

Cons

By far the worst work experience I ever had. I worked in HR and the other HR leaders are nothing but unethical dishonest bullies. Don’t buy into the dynamic culture and great leaders that they try to sell you on, it doesn’t exist. People from the outside coming into this department quickly learn that they mean nothing. The existing team can’t handle someone new who actually knows how to do their job. I was lied about, accused of all kinds of things, excluded, and bullied all within 30 days of working there. And, the person who heads up the HR department stands behind them. Her only concern is the security and happiness of her girls. It an unhealthy and miserable environment to be in. Don't waste your time, talent, or efforts here, its not appreciated nor does it matter to them. I'm writing this because most people start a new job with good intentions and a desire to do a good job. At Swift, when you’re new and do a good job, you’ll get blindsided with this treatment before you even know its happening and nobody cares.

Pros

+ If you like to run hard, they have the miles! + Home for 34s, and usually a couple nights a week in between + They don't push you into dangerous driving, always tell you to shut down if you feel unsafe and/or when weather and road conditions are terrible + Usually allow you to run local from time to time if you are burnt out from long hauls and need a change up, if they have the freight available + Not sitting around at shippers for hours on end + Plenty of access to Walmart stores for when you need food/groceries + Probably one of the best ways to get your foot in the door at Walmart if you want to eventually drive for them when you get enough experience

Cons

- A lot of hours, hard to let off and slow down if you're feeling overworked especially during busy seasons (but that is most trucking anyway) - Sometimes sitting and waiting for a load - Some stores can be a little slow and a pain to get someone back to receiving to get unloaded - Winter driving (MT, ID, WY, CO, UT), snow is real in these states haha, but again that's trucking

Driver Leader

Pros

Job security unless you do something really out of line to be fired. Co-workers were awesome to work with.

Cons

Too many demands have been put on the Driver Leader in 2018 including giving out personal Cell Phones or to buy another one to be reached after hours and only be compensated $32 per month. Lower Monthly premiums for Health care, way too high in my opinion 100's of layoffs after Knight took over.
