Pros

Terminals have free showers and they do have laundry.

Cons

For starters the apps they use in the kiosks never work for me they either freeze up or shut down at every terminal that I've tried them they don't work. They tell you to take crappy loads so you can get good ones I've worked at Swift for 3 months and I have not yet gotten a load over 1000 miles. Way too much downtime at customers for example on loading or unloading the shortest time frame I've had for that is 2 hours most of them are 3 to 8 hours long burning up the 70-hour clock to where you don't make enough miles a week. Out of all my weeks that I've worked at Swift I've only managed to get one week where I just broke two thousand miles and I am OTR. they care more about their customers than the drivers they false advertise that the drivers and everybody else with his family I've been in more fights with people at Swift because everybody's too lazy and does not do their job in the offices they can get rid of all the planners in CSR as for sure because they give all the wrong information such as about 75% of the addresses I get are wrong. Swift is also very paranoid because they have to put so many sensors and parameters on the truck so that God forbid you go around a curve or do Fair breaking. You have an interface in camera they claim is not on but I don't believe that for a minute even if I have tape over it I'm sure they're going to question. But that violates privacy. They don't care about putting you in danger at a customer for example, I was at a customer and one of their employees threaten me and Swift wouldn't do anything about it. They say to use the voice your choice which is a review setting for Swift I put all kinds of reviews of things they need to fix and they haven't changed one bit. Not for over 30 days. The pay is definitely way lower than what you're putting in for. I don't hardly go home voluntarily I don't have a home so I'm out usually 3 weeks to a month. Also they keep me only on the East Coast they don't ever hardly send me out west or to the Rockies and they have a lot of excuses for why they do things the way they do things. Dispatch windows at Terminal try to treat you like you're stupid and illiterate. If you have to put your truck in any of the shops they'll tell you it'll be more than two weeks before they ever get to it and then Swift will say well we don't have any trucks to put you in yet they claim that they will put you right in a truck. It took me a month to get them to switch out of truck for me so I drove it with all kinds of problems. Anything Swift tells you is all lies, the only way you'll see the truth is working for them don't ever believe any advertising they put up. As for the parameters of the truck I actually haven't absolutely no camera incidences I had one on the first week that I started with swift that was because of a last-minute light change. Other than that I've never had a single traffic incident. I'm speaking on behalf of the other drivers in the company.

Pros

Steady miles. Familiar routes and stops. Plenty to do in area during downtime. On site showers. Some good dispatchers and the shop staff is extremely helpful.

Cons

Skim you on stop pay once fully added to the account. Goes from $15 per stop to $10 for every stop after the first. Certain planners and dispatchers don’t really care about your hometime, or your sleep schedule. They’ll plan you on two loads, which is fine, except for the first one will be ready 6-9 hours after your 10 hour break is complete. Reject it and there will magically be no loads for you for 2-3 days.
