Pros

Very forgiving atmosphere for a technician starting out. Many good techs willing to share knowledge and shape you to be a better tech. Old school Vacation Time, 2 weeks first year (at least when I was there) and 3 weeks in your second year. Also, good experience to gain on fleet services and decent training opportunities if you chase it. Good facility, well planned out, decent shop equipment.

Cons

Low pay. Out-dated work billing time - 45 minutes for wheel end (it can be done, but most shops have that listed as 4.5 hours and to do it right and to clean the areas thoroughly it takes about an hour). Promotion plan is unrealistic - those training packets are a good idea, but getting time to do them is next to impossible as it requires scheduling time when you are off and getting the time of a foreman to observe and sign off when they have other duties that take priority in the shop. Parking is terrible. No overtime even when you are clocking overtime - you can work overtime but it will be billed as straight time.

Pros

I am a devoted worker, I always on time to work and I'm a good part of my team workers. I enjoy working with customers to fulfill their expectations and solve if there any issues.

Cons

I work for Swift trucking and my duties are mentoring new drivers and deliver loads to Costco from Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

Pros

Drop an hook, well maintained equipment, they are desperate for drivers and after a training program you have a very high chance of being hired work well with new drivers and student drivers.

Cons

Low team miles, no communication between departments. They also cannot seem to keep track of their empty trailers and what trailers need repaired half the time to tell you oh we have an empty trailer and it actually is in line to be in the shop.
