Pros

Pay and benefits are generally good; some good, knowledgeable people at the company

Cons

Poor performance is rewarded to avoid having to fire employees who are just along for the ride. The company operates more as an oligarchy, with some managers having their own "kingdoms" where cronyism happens often. Poor quality outsourcing is increasingly more common in the company and makes many processes and functions difficult and poorly run.

Pros

Interesting and important work in agricultural biotechnology: opportunity to create crops with improved characteristics that can feed more people using less land, less water, and less-toxic chemicals.

Cons

British management has no vision or will to make biotechnology work. Unnecessary bureaucracy. Nobody listens to the scientists.
