Pros

They had free coffee, tea and other beverages. Parking was free in a covered ramp. Benefits were very good.

Cons

Poor systems, could not find data to do my job, no direction, staggering amounts of time wasted just trying to get simple information - had to use one-off Excel spreadsheets with questionable data and sourcing just to pull anything together. There was constant confusion about basic data (i.e. sales $, sales units), let alone anything more complicated. No standard procedures, processes, organization, etc. (I was left waiting for an hour - twice - during my on-site interview. I should have left then.) Office environment was extremely noisy. Titles are also very confusing - everyone seems to be a "Head" of something. Very few women in leadership positions. Run, don't walk!

Pros

Great science and really outstanding scientists. We have fantastic chemists and remarkable biologists, and this remarkable range from breeders to process chemists to genomics folks -- it can be very stimulating. The company is also extremely international, so not only can there be quite a bit of travel there's ample opportunity to really get to know people from different national backgrounds (primarily European, but activities in Asia, South America and to a lesser extent Africa are ramping up rapidly)

Cons

The company is Swiss, huge, bureaucratic and frustrating. Ultimately the goal is feeding the planet, but decision making is incredibly complex, and it seems like there are entire departments whose only job is to make your job harder for you to do successfully.
