Pros

Union benefits, willingness to give you “experience”. Management is good most days. Transportation supervisors understand

Cons

Everything else sucks. Equipment is +10 years old, tractors, trailers, pallet jacks. Finding the delivery location, digging through the pallets to look for a case. Pay is alright, OT is basically mandatory, you will spend 14 hours working a day. Don’t plan to see your family much. Days off are spent recovering from touching 600-900 cases each route, weighing around 15,000 pounds daily. I don’t believe there’s much career advancement, for CDL anyway.
