Pros

This company seems to be really well run. They are currently aggressively expanding. The management is competent and leaders at all levels are empowered to find solutions. Really good benefits. Pretty good compensation. Not too many corporate requirements outside of contracting requirements.

Cons

Unfortunately, the instability in government organizations impacted my role with the company. I felt like they were trying to take care of us, however I wanted to keep control of my own future. Communication is difficult at this time, since there are so many unknowns, but it would have been nice to have weekly updates or meetings with senior leaders to voice concerns or be informed.

Thank you for sharing your feedback! We’re glad to hear you found SPA to be well run, enjoyed your benefits and compensation, and appreciated our strong commitment to retaining employees impacted by changes to contracts. By leveraging our extensive workforce mobility program, employees affected by contract factors are able to explore and match with open roles that fit their skillsets. We recognize that rapid chnages to government agencies have created uncertainty across the industry; however, SPA is proud to report that our mission sets and capabilities currently align with 15 of the DoW's 17 strategic priorities, as outlined by the Secretary of War. Leadership continues to track trends in National Security to ensure we are investing in and growing capabilities with long-term strategic value. We also understand the importance of feeling informed and heard during these times and we’re taking action to provide that communication. SPA’s executive team holds quarterly town halls and recently participated in a Q&A session, open to all SPA employees, to address questions about current conditions directly. Thank you again for sharing your feedback. We will keep your notes regarding communication in mind as we work towards continuous improvement.

Pros

Good pay, solid benefits, the culture has been very nice. You will get to shake the CEOs hand and he seems genuinely interested in keeping the workforce happy. They increased the base PTO for everyone around when I started.

Cons

Its a smaller high growth company, and there are some risks related to that. The benefits aren't as robust as some of the bigger defense contractors but they are acceptable.
