While recent shifts in government spending and priorities may have created choppier waters, SPA is proud to report that our current capabilities and mission sets align with 15 of the DoW’s 17 strategic priorities, as outlined by the Secretary of War in 2025. In the unusual instance that a contract or position is impacted, SPA makes genuine and involved efforts to find folks work elsewhere in the company. By leveraging our internal Workforce Mobility Program/Career Connect, networking events, and HR Business Partner support, employees can connect with other contracts that have openings and align with their skillsets. Great for veterans and retirees, not undergrads.

Pros

Usually, great work life balance but can also be intrusive into your personal time if not careful. Expect to travel a lot and interface with clients regularly.

Cons

Company has become only focused on military industrial complex and feels like it is undermining it's core values through corporation with the current administration. Can be a great place to work but it is entirely contract dependent. Additionally, the SPA dinner ball/gala feels like a slap in the face to younger folks and to the American tax payer. When the Pentagon fails it's audit for the 8th year in a row, this is where the money is going.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. It’s great to hear you appreciate SPA’s generous and flexible comp time and overtime policies, as well as the opportunities to travel. Affording employees the ability to have increased autonomy over their schedule and work-life balance is a focus for SPA. We also understand the importance of having clear expectations surrounding compensation and career progression. That’s why over the past year, our Human Resources and Learning & Development teams have worked diligently to refine salary bands and stand up numerous programs related to career progression. Furthermore, with the launch of our new HR Information System, SAP, we’re working to continue to educate our workforce in our compensation process. SPA does have a compensation philosophy, program, and ranges and we continue to work with management to refine the process.
