Pros

This is the first company I have worked for that takes seriously a balance between work and life. The company even has a separate and distinct management chain from HR specifically for employee advocacy. There is plenty of opportunity to connect with other coworkers to build solid working relationships.

Cons

As the company continues to grow, maintaining the high level of communication and connectedness could become more challenging.

Thanks for the high praise! What you’re noticing is TCG’s core values embodied in the staff. We hire for those as much as we hire for skills because they tend to mark out people who we think are awesome.

Pros

Employee engagement is superb! Company strives to know me as a person and not just as some random employee number. Work we do is valuable to the government and, in many cases, the world. Perks and benefits are top notch. Communication is always open from the bottom up and the top down. Executives and managers truly care about my well-being and strive to put me in positions where I can provide the most value, while also helping to achieve my own personal career goals. Everyone here cares about each of our clients' missions and puts every effort in ensuring they are successful.

Cons

Nothing. I honestly hope this is the company I end up retiring from.

strong values and company mission

Pros

Strong values and company mission. Career development is a positive with opportunities to improve my professional capabilities. Many TCGers are collaborative and eager to help one another out.

Cons

Conversations about pay happen once a year with annual raises, outside of promotions. If you use the training allowance, TCG requires that you pay it back if you leave within a year of that training.

Thank you so much for your positive review! We love to read about your happiness with TCG. You’re 100% correct that pay transparency prevents wage disparities. However: We have often surveyed employees about whether they’d like their salaries to be “public” (internally to the company), with the idea that if more than 80% say it should be public (and the rest don’t say they’d quit if we did so), we’ll make it so. The results have not been favorable - we haven’t even hit 60% interest in public salaries. We won’t share without permission. But that’s just from the company side. You are absolutely welcome to share your own salary with whomever you choose! (Also it’d be illegal per the National Labor Relations Act (note: not legal advice; we are not a lawyer) for us to stop you from doing so.)
