Pros

I cannot think of any.

Cons

Poor management style, does not promote upward mobility or continuing education, people are constantly trying to undermine you, low pay, low morale.

Pros

TE offers excellent opportunities for younger employees to work on cutting edge projects and the ability to work in different divisions that serve a wide variety of industries. Salary and benefits are good. You can gain knowledge and experience at TE that will make you very attractive to TE's competitors.

Cons

Once you have 20+ years of service, you might as well put a target on your back. Layoffs are carefully crafted to include just enough younger workers to prevent an age bias lawsuit. Management creates the layoff list, HR reviews it, then Legal has final say on who is on the list. Middle management operates solely to protect their own positions, not to do the right things. It's a job, not a career. As long as you look at it in that context, you'll be fine. Political correctness has overtaken HR. Safe Space placards, non-denominational holidays, and my all-time favorite: a Cornhole tournament during Diversity Month. I personally have no issues with workplace diversity, but I also think the focus should be on doing your job, not segregating into company sponsored Employee Resource Groups that emphasize differences.

Pros

Lots of employees with long tenure. Strong market leader in the industry. Lots of potential with this company and great employees. Pays really better than average. High expectations with challenging work.

Cons

Recent upper management changes in Greensboro intended to shake things up, only the choices are contrary to the culture change they were trying to implement. A lot of the "left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing" between locations and even corporate office causing wasted efforts. Lots of us versus them between local plants and Winston-Salem office. Long term tenure has created complacency of those employees. Lack of structured training due to economy reduction years ago has created quality issues and a lack of accountability. Newer employees, hired to help, see writing on the wall and stay less than 5 years. They see there is too much of an uphill battle to enforced necessary changes with all the tenured employees that block progress. Goals are in silos for each department and some projects are unrealistic. Workload for some unevenly distributed and some managers lack ability to properly delegate. This has created some of the newer team members to leave due to too much work for 1 person or not enough work. Culture is not defined, therefore confusing newer staff. Hard to find information. Slow to get needed changes or purchases made. Performance reviews/bonus structured poorly - seems more like a popularity contest and not explained well, in fact they don't explain much well Tenured employees just expect that you know inherently where things are, who to talk to and what to do. On-boarding was some of the worst considering the size of the company.. Leadership's inability to lead is clearly causing issues in the production areas, yet iron-fist change will not work.
