Pros
I came to TEEMA from a large (and getting larger by the day) full-desk recruiting company that was once a great place to be, but was quickly declining in both culture and opportunity. It took me a long time to get up the nerve to leave, since TEEMA does not offer a draw or base salary.
That said, the commission structure at TEEMA is almost three times that of the place that I left, at which I was a top ten biller my last full year. Thus, I finally made the decision to believe in myself and my abilities for the sake of tripling my income, while also working from the comfort of my own home. The commute traffic where I live is a nightmare--so that is a major perk! Sure enough, I enjoyed great success my first year, while also having flexibility in my hours and the freedom to make my own decisions with respect to running my desk.
It is so great to have this freedom, while also being able to keep the larger percentage of the money that I make (seeing as I did, in fact, make it). Looking back, I can't see how I stayed where I was before for so long. I guess I just didn't realize how much better I could have it somewhere else.
Moreover, the other TEEMmates are genuinely great, ethical people who truly want to help each other to be successful. That is not something you tend to find in a recruiting environment, but because TEEMA's model is based around partnership and collaboration, it is only natural. In fact, I don't see how someone without that mindset would even be successful here in the long-term. So if you consider yourself a shark who is out to take other people's clients and candidates, or anything of that nature, best to stay away ;)
Long story short, coming to TEEMA was one of the best decisions I have ever made!
Cons
One of the pitfalls of my last company was too much turnover and potential client frustration due to trying to grow too quickly. I hope that doesn't become the case here.
