      Searching for direction in a dying industry

      willing to innovate if you are in the right group of employees located in lots of markets

      Cons

      uncertain future and struggling to find ways to stay relevant spinning off key parts of the company that were making money only a small fraction of employees considered relevant and whose opinions matter within the company tons of turnover

      Pros

      Let's face it, media is changing fast and is in the middle of a shake out and transformation. Lots of local stations look/sound the same and haven't changed in 40 years. That's ok people are used to it and like it, but this company is at least trying to get ahead of the curve and innovate even if it's awkward at times. If you have ideas...they will listen. I've pitched tons of ideas and...some are getting picked up and the quality of stories and storytelling is going up. I truly believe if you are getting into this business or you have been at it awhile your ideas will at least have a chance of taking off. Many other station groups are trying not to rock the boat and ride the gravy train to it's ultimate trip off a cliff. Tegna is trying to adjust quickly to avoid that.

      Cons

      Bad health care plan has been mention before and yeah it's not very good. As new stuff is getting tested it can be a jolt to audiences some may never come back. Lost a lot of seasoned talent recently.

      You get all your vacation time upfront.

      Cons

      Management have no clue what they are doing and cannot tell you how to do your job. Management openly talk about each other in front of employees when they are not playing on their phones. There is no room for growth.
