Pros
Industry Experience, Created Motivation to find a better job
Cons
This job provided great experience, however the internal culture was absolutely TOXIC. If you want to absolutely wreck your mental health this is the place for you! There was a ton of emphasis put on your physical appearance and the type of clothes that you wear. There are many stories of managers hooking up with the recruiters that fall under them. Creating a messed up power dynamic. The managers here are extremely aggressive and have a hard time relating to their employees. Also they expect you to pay for expenses out of pocket and wait to be reimbursed. I ran into countless issues while trying to be reimbursed. They actively work to create internal competition between recruiters creating a toxic environment. They love to call out any mistakes that you make in a public setting. There were times I saw employees scorned in front of 20+ people. They put major emphasis on winning a "luxury" sales trip to Mexico...when in reality the trip feels like spring break or an all inclusive trip worth $1000. They made the trip sound like you walk into the gates of heaven if you get to go. When in actuality it is an average trip to Mexico..that you have to go on with your colleagues, OH great more time surrounded by the people you see from 7:30am-7:30pm M-F. In reality I would of rather saved myself the 65 hour work weeks and not hit the sales goal for the trip. The commission and trip did not even compare to the sacrifices I had to make in my life to be successful here. I never felt safe here. I could never be honest with my feelings or opinions because they would be shared behind my back. I walked into multiple conversations where manager/colleagues were speaking Ill of me or another employee. My whole experience at TEK in Charlotte felt like I was part of the most cringy Sorority/Fraternity on campus.
