Pros

Consultants are paid weekly.. that is the main benefit that I like.

Cons

They lack on the ERP consulting side of the industry. I also think that there should be some formal training budget allotted to those consultants the are continually generating revenue for hte company. A career model for individual staff members is not provided. Career counseling should be implementing so that that can continually better their staff.

Pros

As a recruiter or sales professional at TEKsystems, you are commission-based, and can make much more financially in the staffing world than you can make elsewhere. The financial upside is the best reason to work at TEKsystems. But it doesn't come easy. You must be willing to commit 3 years of dedicated hard-work (for most people), in order to see the mid-to-upper $100k+ / six figure rewards. There are recruiters at TEKsystems who make close to $200k/yr, and Account Managers who make above $300k. Those are 3 long, hard, years. Most people don't make it this long. Those who do are well rewarded financially-- but even then, the more you make, your job doesn't get any easier.

Cons

First- Your work-life balance is compromised significantly. Secondly- Your career and financial success at TEKsystems depends heavily on other people and a lot is completely out of your control: Internally- As a recruiter, you are dependent on the Account Managers, and Account Managers are dependent on recruiters. You have to sell as much internally as you do externally, IF NOT MORE, and by far, the hardest part of your job at TEKsystems is the Internal politics that arise because of this dynamic. Externally, both Account Managers and Recruiters are dependent on candidates, client hiring managers/companies, and the job market/economy. Then you have all of the vendor competitors on top of all of this. With so many people in the mix that your success hangs on, and knowing that with human beings so much can go wrong, your job is mostly out of your control, bottom line. To counter this-- you will be told that the vendor staffing business is a 'numbers game' - This means that you will fail most of the time, so, you have to have enough activity and 'numbers' to beat the odds to make a placement. This is why work-life balance gets skewed, but hey, this is Sales. Fourthly, the benefits package (Health-Medical, 401k, profit-sharing, etc.), is fairly weak relative to other companies generally in my opinion. Lastly, as a recruiter or account manager in the vendor staffing world, I've seen so many people become trapped. It is very difficult to leverage your experience at TEKsystems in other fields or career areas outside of staffing.

Pros

Good people and good opportunity. Management really takes the time to train in the local office. They also provide some of the most thorough training I have ever seen. This training for AM's is done 3 times at corporate in the 1st year.

Cons

A lot of management involvement. This can be good in some cases though. Management believes that there invoolvement helps drive delivery.
