Pros
I joined Telus on 2010 as a Co-op student and got hired full-time in 2011 thanks to a lucky break in a project. They match stock purchases to a certain % and the employee phone plan has saved me thousands over the years. Most of my co-workers are pleasant to deal with and the work-life balance is top notch.
Cons
I'm in a team full of top-performers so it's harder to get recognized. Some people abuse the relaxed working environment to slack off. Despite being in the same department, inter-team politics make it difficult to be as progressive as possible. Upper management gives the impression of a senior citizen trying to be hip with the youngsters on facebook with how they're dealing with new tech such as Big Data and Agile.
