Pros

Easy way to progress in the company. I've been with the company for almost two years (in July) and have already been promoted. Good pay, you get an increase in pay every year for your review and sometimes a dollar increase from the company. Your hours are pretty good, sometimes they suck and sometimes they don't. You get a solid 20 hours for part timers set to you throughout the week but you can get more by picking up call out shifts.

Cons

the customers are extremely nit picky. Some can get very rude and threaten to call corporate so you have to bend to their command basically. there's usually a good amount of older and younger employees, which can sometimes cause drama. Sometimes you're stuck in a rock and a hard place when it comes to employees. Management takes forever to train the employees on the needed areas (I.e. Cash register and sales floor)

Pros

Great product and huge sales potential.

Cons

The strain of working closing and opening the next day was too frequent. No set days off also made personal life very imbalanced. The reality of crushing the staff for district manager inspections/visits is counter productive and standard were too high.

Pros

Great way to gain leadership and management experience. I liked the company overall. Associate discounts at TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Homegoods stores.

Cons

I really enjoyed my time with the company during the first five years. After acceting the coordinator position movement up the ladder was stagnant due to not playing into the local store management politics. Its sad that people who work the hardest and are dependable don't get the opportunity to grow further with the company because they don't run back to management and tell on others or gossip with them. Also some people who are promoted to various positions are not qualified they just brown nose with management. Also pay was low for what the position demanded and hours were not real full-time hours. Full-time with this company is only 32 hours a week. Then to top it off they refuse to allow full-timers to have more flexibility to work another part-time job as 32 hours is not enough to make a decent living. TJ Maxx had to be your only priority.
