Pros

Some very intelligent people work here and you will likely find at least a couple of people you wiill learn something new from.

Cons

The focus and goals of management seemed to shift on a monthly basis. The strict focus on ideas and future planning left little room for management to communicate basic guidelines. All employees have to work a 50 hour work week at a minimum. Yet they claim that they want employees to have a "work life balance".

Pros

TNTP is always in search of better ways to support urban education, so the mission behind the work is very positive.

Cons

Management here is hit or miss. Individuals can be prematurely promoted and insufficiently trained for management. This leads to micromanagement, difficult with work/life balance, communication issues, culture problems, etc. Be sure to know who you'll be working with. Also, know that they are in a constant state of restructuring.

Purposeful work but no time for yourself

Pros

Colleagues, mission of the organization, professional growth, benefits.

Cons

Salary appears high but isn't when you take into account how much and how hard you work, work-life balance (they advertise 50 hour work week as the standard, when really it is 70+ hours per week), constant changes in upper level management and organizational priorities leads to chaos and lack of support on sites. Constant stress, inability to truly "unplug" after hours/on weekends/on vacation.
