Pros

Meaningful work, caring staff. We worked crazy hard long hours, but we really believed in what we were doing and it was clear every single employee cared about the work and was passionate - or at least deeply invested - in the mission. No one just clocked in/clocked out; it was not that kind of place.

Cons

long hours w mediocre pay, hierarchical structure, too many meetings, little personal flexibility/individuality. Folks here were a little cult-like in following the organization, and the people "at the top" seemed very pleased with themselves for reaching those ranks - like "you can get here too if you really drink the cool aid." because there was such a focus on mission and the "way," you didn't have any room for your own projects or to interpret the way you wanted to handle things your own way, which got frustarting at times. It was like "if you don't like how the bus is being driven, get off the bus."

Pros

-Great benefits -Working from home could be an option

Cons

Talks a lot about diversity, equity and inclusion but does not practice what it preaches in the workplace. Some people are valued more than others and it will show come promotion time. If you're not a certain type of person, you will not advance, regardless of your performance. Internal survey results of the last 2 years show this but management is more concerned about trying to fool its employees into thinking they're doing something about it when they're actually not. Most employees can see right through this which is why the same issue comes up survey after survey. It is no wonder so many people have left in the last year; TNTP is on a serious decline.

Pros

Generous employee benefits, strong emphasis on client satisfaction, extremely talented coworkers

Cons

High rate of employee turnover, constant change of job duties and expectations. For a company that is in the education field I never felt support if I made a mistake. You learn by making mistakes, trying again, and not giving up until it is correct. Working at TNTP I was always so afraid of making a mistake. It seems like there was no room for error and everyone strove to be perfect in a very imperfect field like education.
