TSA needs professionalism

Pros

Great stepping stone to advance in tsa or other govt agencies

Cons

They hire ghetto unproffesional lazy slobs. Uniforms look never pressed, cleaned or putting it on as walking into building. Clicks hanging out at checkpoints with LTSO and STSO'S. Look professional, act professional. Public sees bunch of kids looking like their hanging out at local park when they come through.

Pros

Great health coverage and choice of medical plan through the govt. You are unlikely to be laid off no prior experience needed

Cons

no prior experience needed -low standards all around when placing people Expect to be subservient to whims of others -often: Middle Managers priority is on disciplinary action and limiting workforce time off and shifty dealings with workforce. Upper managers are removed from workforce and have draconian policies regarding time off or any kind of flexibility at all. If you cannot tollerate shift work and irate people this is not for you. Be prepared:you are a glorified mall cop at best and if anything goes wrong the blame only filters down.

Pros

Government benefits, Decent pay but not compared to other government agencies. Get to interact with all kinds of people. Easy work.

Cons

Interacting with all kinds of people. Management is not capable of showing human emotions. Most of the people who work there are ex military/law enforcement so they all have an attitude. Salary should be on the GS Scale. Exposed to radiation daily. Get yelled at daily from the public.
