Thank you for your more than 8 years of support and for submitting a review on our Glassdoor page. We truly appreciate the feedback and all you have done to make TSP the company it is.
I'm very happy you've enjoyed the work from home, and that definitely is a great aspect to some of our positions. Flexibility is an awesome perk!
Thank you also for the information you submitted regarding industry pay and on call pay. Many of our pay rates are directly influenced by what our customers pay us. We run annual benchmarking every year to compare TSP pay rates and industry pay rates. That's not to say that every position is below, at, or above benchmark but we do use this data when negotiating rates with customers. We also use this information to cross-reference what our talent acquisition team is finding in the market place when they are recruiting.
As a non-exempt employee, this means you are paid by the amount of time you work, and not by the job you do. This also means we pay you for time worked while you are on call. We do not however, pay you for being available. Employees who must be available to respond to a request by the employer to return to work for an emergency is considered to be on uncontrolled standby. Such "free" standby time need not be paid according to the Department of Labor (DOL).
Generally, employers (including TSP) pay a premium for being on call, although according to the DOL they do not have to. I understand wanting more compensation and the potential inconvenience being on call has; however, it’s part of the job. I'm sorry that you feel our compensation for on call "stinks."
Thank you again for all your efforts and submitting feedback via Glassdoor.
