Pros

-A good amount of paid time off. -Co-workers all understand the stress and are easy to talk to whenever you're having a bad day. -Great start if you want to enter the social work field. -Expanding like crazy, Talbert House is everywhere and is continuing to grow. -Pay for gas. -Health Insurance

Cons

-Horrible pay. Lets just say my friend has worked at a Chipotle for 2 years with no college degree and makes more than I do. -This job can involve an abundance of driving and yes they will pay for your gas, but the wear and tear on your car such as repairs they will not pay for. -Clients can make your work life absolutely horrible, they throw a chair through there window, get evicted over the weekend, you're there to pick up the pieces on Monday. -You can't progress or get promoted unless you get your masters or you get licensed. -Very emotionally taxing, there's a reason they are generous with the paid time off.

Pros

Flexible. Time off. Bonus pay if you work your Butt off. Training and continuous education. Great entry level position. Burn out type of job.

Cons

Dead end job. Upper management lies. Unfair. Clicky. High turnover. Poor bedside manner psychiatrist. You pay more out of pocket to work there than you get paid; gas, cell, car wear and tear, communicable diseases, supplies, no place for employees clients sit everywhere; lunch room, mtg room, ect. Administration loses your paperwork and are rude to clients. Supervisors have favorites. Coworkers are very unprofessional and it's tolerated.

Pros

Talbert House does great work for the community. Support for professional licences for clinical staff.

Cons

Talbert House often seems more concerned about its reputation than any clients, employees, or programs. Serious problems can be ignored or hushed up to avoid bad press. Getting new programs (and more money) is more important than running programs well. Executives micro-manage everything, and rules are applied differently to different programs and people. Supervisors and even directors are undermined and overruled by HR and executives every day. This leads to a culture where employees are rewarded for complaining to a VP until they get an exception. (Particularly when it comes to HR and finance.)
