      * I like my co workers * Good discount, benefits are fair, expensive though. * Pay for managers OK, for now

      Cons

      * Long days for managers 9 hours per shift, that's 8.5 hours on your feet, if you have "lunch coverage" if not you have to snack as you run through stockroom. * Company focus on fashion and bring everyone up to the lastest "looks" has caused hurt feelings and great people have left because after years at Talbots their not hip enough or young enough. * At a refresh store overheard District Manager say to General Manager " She's what we're looking for very pretty, lots of energy, young". What!!! your a company that sells to the over 30 woman and you want a 20 year old to be your role model, have you people lost your minds! YOU TOOK AWAY THE WATER COOLERS, WHAT DID THAT SAVE YOU NATIONWIDE, $100,000-$200,000, YOU LOST A MILLION $ IN RESPECT FROM YOUR FRONTLINE! YOU KNOW THOSE PEOPLE WHO MAKE YOUR BUSINESS!

      Awful Place To Develop A Career

      Pros

      Nice location outside of city. I found the salaries to be fair when compared to similar positions in the area.

      Cons

      The leadership does not believe in promoting from within, even if you receive impeccable reviews. The job board has been empty for over a year despite the fact that there are open jobs that they're filling with external candidates only. Work/life balance is non-existent. The company has stopped giving any type of merit raises and drastically cut all benefits.
