Pros

Beautiful store. Awesome loyal, repeat customers. Employees who know the brand. I was able to build solid relationships with customer and that was a big plus for me. The lack of employee turnover encouraged me to building my career at Talbots.

Cons

There seems to be a trend to cut the hours of seasoned employees over a certain age in favor of building up the hours of younger employees. Looks like discrimination on the part of upper management given that it has happened other places than the store I worked. By renaming the positions to make those changes in the staff, it really shows the company is only thinking of the "her" who has the $$$ not the loyal, customer building, associate who has helped Talbot become a strong brand.

Pros

Flexible when it comes to calling out. Helps build your customer service skills.

Cons

Working at this store i a lot of issues. First off they do not pay me enough for the amount of work I do. They except you to work the register. Answer phones .process directs. Be full attentive with each customer. Be a security guard warding of shoplifting. Clean all at the same time while the managers hide in the back office practicing using pretty fonts on word. Also the customers also make it unpleasurable. Most people that come in are snobby rude messy and treat you like a servant. I have worked 3 other retail jobs and have never experienced do much dysfunction. Also certain manager don't keep their word and say very disrespectful and unprofessional things to their employees. Also I have a problem with them change the schedule that they have posted without telling us because employees have lives outside of their walls it makes it harder to plan anything. Also they either put too many people on or they put far too few should have been trained to manage a schedule. however this is what I deal with at my location I don't know anything about other locations

Pros

Let's see.....this is a tough one.....my store hours were great! Not typical retail hours. Unfortunately you take the hit from all the stress of the job.

Cons

Leadership is lacking in exactly that! They seem to be throwing every idea out there to see what sticks. There is a lack of direction and, although, there seems to be some sort of vision, they can't seem to communicate it or execute effectively to their Field Leaders. District Management population seems clueless on how to support and guide store leadership. No development or career growth.......unless you come from Brooks Brothers!
