No appreciation for talented, dedicated employees
Pros
Nice store environment, opportunties to build relationships with great customers, love co-workers, good discount
Cons
The employess who work at the store level receive absolutely no appreciation for work done. The expectation for all levels of store management is total dedication to the store. There is no incentive to improve #'s, conversely, there are no excuses for not making numbers. There are no opportunities for honest discourse or creative input, in other words, employees must "drink the Kool-aid". You must have open availability and are required to work most holidays and weekends; sacrificing family timebut receiving nothing in return. The management at the distict level seems blind to the talent they have in their stores. Nothing is done to inspire current employees to move up. Associates move up only because of high turnover rate at store management level. Talbot's has nothing to offer to their strongest, most dedicated employees.
