Pros

interesting patients, strong Administrative and Leadership support, very pleasant coworkers and ancillary staff, adequate pay, electronic record is more than adequate and not difficult to learn. Choice of patients to work with or not depending on comfort and skill level. Leadership are always looking to find ways to improve and Provider's comfort is a priority to deliver strong evidence-based care. In my experience, patients are happy at Talkiatry.

Cons

understandable ramp up period, possibly hired too many psychiatrists initially in terms of patient availability but worked on this as a priority, turning a negative into an opportunity to grow effectively. So what started as a Con turns out to be a Pro in a way.

Pros

Teams are mission-driven to sustain & grow a thriving psychiatry practice and make a positive impact on the patients we serve. Flexibility of remote work is appreciated and benefits are great. There is a tangible emphasis on establishing a culture of collaboration and care.

Cons

Anticipated and customary growing pains of a start-up.

Pros

Wonderful colleagues, flexibility, reasonable expectations for new patients and follow ups

Cons

Recruitment is filled with misleading information and marketing lures in inexperienced young docs. No one makes the promised salary- many struggle make over 250k. Incentive pay only accrues once you reach a certain patient load or productivity number. Your reimbursement may be closer to 25% billing vs 75%> Any "paid" time off negatively impacts your incentive pay. Taking 5 days off may cost you 50% or more of your incentive pay. Admin support is barebones unpredictable. New patients are often inappropriate and there is no prescreening. The emr and video software are not well designed for psychiatry. Physicians are expected to handle all administrative tasks, writing letters, prior auths, managing patient list, fielding questions from all pts

Thank you for sharing your experience. Information like this helps us improve our processes. We've rolled out new tools that improve visibility into incentives and are making updates to our tools to make the experience smoother for providers, and for patients, too. We appreciate your contributions and value your feedback.
