Pros
Good people and culture Just need to do notes and attend meetings In theory, a good model of healthcare
Cons
There has been a lot of changes that are rolled out with minimal time for staff to react which shows that these changes are either done haphazardly or done at the last minute. There’s discrepancies in billing and patient care is “number 1”. Management is also top heavy where there has been an influx of senior or executive management hires but stagnant compensation with therapists. Granted, they are implementing change in 2025 but it will likely be a messy roll out like most things at Talkiatry. There have also been a lot of changes in autonomy for your schedule which results in exhausting back to back hour long sessions (talkiatry doesn’t allow for 45 minute sessions and you will be flagged if you have too many) for about 7-8 hours a day. This also means that documentation time is left to the last few minutes of your session. You also have little autonomy over who gets put on your caseload. There is minimal management with a background in mental health that actually understand the demand and workload of a therapist. Many therapists are burnt out and underpaid, and efforts to help with this is minimally helpful or productive.
