Small Format Stores are like Working at a Summer Camp

Pros

I worked at a small format target. There are only two of these in NC, but they're essentially a small version of a Target. About the size of a small grocery store, but with a larger variety of items. I knew all of my coworkers, had great relationships with all of the LODs, and felt incredibly supported and loved. If you're looking for a job with a strong sense of community, look no further.

Cons

The hours were sporadic and it was difficult to feel secure.

Pros

Target is a great place to start, or if you're just looking for something to keep you busy. I genuinely like my leadership and co-workers. Work is interesting for the most part. Good perks, benefits after some time. Easy to work with your schedule.

Cons

All in all, it's still retail. Even with an outstanding company, it's a corporate environment. Not everything is going to work exactly as hoped. It often feels like there is not enough manpower to accomplish the goals.
