Pros

Flexible Time Off, friendly coworkers, great collaboration between teams, they pay for two company parties/outings in Summer and Winter and fly the people not in LA to LA to see everyone at the home office and celebrate the holiday's. There isn't a specific bonus, but we also got a non-official Christmas bonus of a week's pay each year we were there announced at the Winter party. The company president greeted me at the party and knew who I was despite never having met (even any Teams meetings that weren't all hands) which I really appreciated.

Cons

While collaboration was good teams would get blamed by other teams for those team leads. One our best employees out on false accusations of harassment with no evidence because his employee knew they were about to be fired and retaliated (of course this was the person who blamed my team for their team's performance).

Pros

- There are a handful of talented employees that are committed to making a difference - Dogs? A fireplace? - Great pool of eligible single people if you're looking to dip your pen in the company ink

Cons

- T1 claims to champion innovation and inclusivity. Diversity of thought, background, and opinion are dismissed entirely. Worse, I observed instances where confidential peer review information was inappropriately shared among employees. - Opportunities for growth are completely subjective. Despite multiple requests, managers weren't able to share actionable plans for professional development and advancement. You're left spinning your wheels on repetitive work (branded vehicle wraps, anyone?) with little to no recognition for your work. Performance feedback is vague or nonexistent. Creativity and innovation take a backseat (pun intended) to tired cookie-cutter solutions. - Department leadership demonstrated a lack of vision and ineffective decision making. A textbook example of what not to do as a leader. Examples include excessive micromanagement across projects, hijacking opportunities for career growth to benefit personal image, dismissing constructive criticism despite claiming openness to feedback, playing favorites (especially those with male-dominated sports experience), and making promises about growth and development that never materialized. - Escalating issues to HR is futile. Truly pointless. Despite serious concerns with department leadership (outlined above), HR deferred my concerns back to management, failing to provide meaningful support or mediation. Actively facilitating an environment where employees feel trapped and unsupported making it clear they exist to protect their most incompetent leaders as opposed to their low and mid-level employees. - Comp is way below industry standard. You will be underpaid and underappreciated. If you are promoted, HR will not accept your counter-offer and will pressure you to sign on the dotted line. - The fact this company has a 4-star rating is baffling. It’s either the result of management padding reviews or HR hiring like-minded, toxically positive individuals who thrive in an echo chamber rather than prioritizing meaningful or innovative work.

Pros

To brag that you work for “Lexus” ?

Cons

As a veteran in the tech industry this is by far the most toxic (and only toxic) company I’ve ever worked for. Amongst all the engineers I was the only female (much less senior), the only one with a family (much less with a child of special needs), and the only fully remote engineer. I was routinely harassed and singled out by my boss. For example he reprimanded me on my annual review for the appointments I had to take occasionally in order to take my son to his therapies- even though I communicated and cleared my time away well ahead of time and I was only away for an hour a week max. I was reprimanded for being “argumentative” while on the next breath I was reprimanded for being too quiet. I would be singled out and reprimanded for things the entire team would do. I was not “one of the boys” that ever got invited to play games with each other. I complained to HR with full documentation and witnesses. They told me that even though they have had many similar complaints about him, since he is a strong coder they want to keep him and otherwise ignored my (and others’) complaints. I’ve actually had to go into therapy for the treatment I’ve received from him and by extension the HR team and am still trying to heal from the damage they’ve caused.
