Pros

Good salary for non-clinical professional positions; great PTO plan; highly subsidized, quality medical insurance if you're single; stable company

Cons

Incredibly expensive medical insurance on family plan; way too top heavy; non clinical employees are not valued - always being told that our only value is making the doctors happy; identity crisis creates constant conflicting priorities & lack of cohesive direction - stop trying to pretend this is more than a staffing company; no accountability for executive mismanagement - this is where weak leaders come to draw a good salary until retirement; almost no gender or ethnic diversity in executive management

Pros

Many locations and opportunities. You can move to new locales easily without leaving the company. There is a lot of flexibility for APCs within the company .

Cons

It's a really large company and at times I feel like a number instead of a valued employee. Hours have been cut to make the bottom line look good, and patient care has suffered for it.

Pros

Competitive pay, adequate equipment/supplies, nice facility with canteen and employee gym. Management very fair when it comes to inclement weather, scheduling time off for doctor's appointments, etc. On par with other companies regarding paid holidays.

Cons

Nepotism is rampant at the Basepointe Billing Centers. I am amazed at how tolerant the company is of hiring children, nieces, spouses, life partners, etc. of existing employees, because the perception will always be that relatives of the "higher ups" will be given preferential treatment (and frequently are, unfortunately). There are departments that have relatives working together despite what I believe is a company policy against this. My other big beef with the company is that I think employees are discouraged from reporting any kind of concerns regarding issues with co-workers. Whether this is just a training issue or a cultural problem I don't know, but I recently approached my boss with a genuine concern and was made to feel like I was the problem. Finally, as many others have stated in their reviews, training here is not standardized in any way and you pretty much just get thrown in the ring and learn as you go.
