- You won't get paid what you're worth. - You won't be considered for promotions -- but the CEO's cronies and yes-men get promoted over and over. If you don't cow-tow, no matter how hard you work or how well you perform, sooner or later you're going to be left on the cutting room floor. - There's no evidence that anyone in upper management knows how to actually grow a business -- this company has grown through acquisitions. They buy good companies and then break them. - There are CONSTANT pivots because of this, usually based on no data whatsoever. It's a pivotpalooza that will leave you feeling like you're in the looney bin. - Understand 100% that your manager is spying on everything you do and say on every work channel, there are NO PRIVATE CONVERSATIONS. - Speaking of spying, every TA computer now comes equipped with actual spyware that the top brass doesn't understand how to use. You'll be asked to hit 40 hours of 'productivity' which will require anywhere from 50-60 hours of actual work. And if you don't hit that, you'll be able to look forward to condescending lectures from the CEO via video and all-hands meetings. - The company is using this as a means of shrinking "without layoffs" and now straight up firing people. Who knows, maybe they plan to try to sell the mess they've created. - If you're at a company you love and it's purchased by TA, don't believe the honeymoon talk. Run. They will destroy your culture, take away your pay increases, gut your resources, and all your benefits will be worse. - The CULTure at TA is as artificial as you'll find anywhere. Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see.

- Apparently TA used to be a great place to work. I don’t know what started the downfall, but it most certainly is not a great place to work anymore. - ActivTrak was just put on all staff computers, so we are all being tracked and micromanaged even more than before. The data is highly inaccurate, showing relevant websites as unproductive, and many people have had to explain why they weren’t at their computer for 30 minutes. And they don’t care or show any empathy towards the explanations, whatever they may be. There is absolutely no trust whatsoever, and it makes for an uncomfortable and unproductive environment. - Random companies are constantly being acquired. Like within 6 months of each other. How are you going to acquire a company, dismantle everything about them (even though you say you don’t want to do so), and then leave them in the dust for another acquisition before making sure they are set up for success? Didn’t you just shut down like 6 websites? Seems like something isn’t working, yet you all continue to do the same thing over and over, expecting different results. - If you don’t agree with the CEO and the people in his pocket, you won’t make it unless you keep your mouth shut. Don’t even think about sharing your differing opinions unless you don’t want a job anymore. - The CEO is extremely impulsive, making decisions that affect multiple people negatively and without thinking of the consequences. We’re constantly putting out fires due to lack of thoughtfulness behind big changes. But we’re still expected to “drive the ship faster” with far less resources. - There have been massive layoffs that are being touted as performance based. They are just trying to save a buck and are forcing the remaining employees to pick up the slack. And without increasing pay of course. - The meetings are so beyond excessive. I don’t know how anyone gets anything done…oh wait… - The quarterly company-wide meeting is an all-day affair (it used to be three days long), and you get about 3 ten-minute breaks. No actual lunch break :) Most of the random sessions throughout have nothing to do with the business, we’re all expected to have our cameras on the entire time, and everyone reads from a script. It’s disengaging, excessive, and largely a waste of time. - The culture reeks of forced cheerfulness. A lot of upper management seems to lap up the koolaid, and I will never understand it. It’s completely disingenuous, and the people on the ground see right through it. With all of the underlying issues, it’s very tactless and off putting. - You will be expected to do the work of 2-3 people but get paid for the work of 1 (barely). In other words, the pay is morally repugnant. - You will receive a bunch of surveys asking for feedback but nothing will be done about it. Somehow TA was nominated as a “best place to work” this year. I’m sure upper management is behind it.
