Pros

Discounted Ryobi and Ridgid. It's a long process for discounted Milwaukee that it is not worth it.

Cons

A minimum of 5 boxes a week for single store reps. If your Home Depot is not ran very well it takes a toll on your ability to do your work and therefore your promotions. Did you get a degree to work at Home Depot? If you're a woman you will be harassed on a daily basis, it is a home depot... if you get a store walk be ready for unrealistic expectations and disappointment. They tell you to over communicate and then leave you in the dark. If you have an issue that they don't want to deal with they just mark it as complete so nothing ever gets solved. Training is a waste of time. There's 1500 reps and a small amount of openings in the offices... do not take this job if you want to be somebody in the business world.

Pros

Literally just one pro - free gas (but mind you, you'll be driving a hideous *single cab* Ford F-150 truck with "Ryobi" or "Milwaukee" logos all around it)

Cons

1. You work in a dirty and dusty Home Depot for 40 hours a week 2. You'll have to work Saturdays during major sales quarters (which also happen to be during football season) 3. You're daily job is cleaning displays, down stocking product for HOURS, cross merchandising throughout the store, dealing with rude and condescending customers (contractors and such), setting missing displays, and doing these terrible things called "resets" which will literally make you want to kill yourself 4. Upper management puts very unrealistic expectations on you for store walks (no competitor products nearby, you must take over competitor space with TTI products, your displays should be "perfect" despite theft being a major hindrance, etc) 5. Terrible management (from ALL levels of the company) 6. They are going to send you MASSIVE amounts of boxes weekly to your apt/home 7. They reward people with promotions who literally did nothing worthy of a promotion while others who grind don't get noticed at all 8. It could take months (or over a year, like me) to finally be walked by management 9. If you are an MSR, your territory could change at any moment (you may get a store that's 2+ hours away) 10. The company profited extremely well during COVID; however, they did nothing special to reward to compensate the employees 11. Your manager has the authority to allow you or prevent you from to applying for a promotion (don't listen to them when they say "most reps get promoted in one year"!!!) and you are not allowed to contact anyone above your manager, ever. You WILL get in trouble if you try that. 12. You will most likely be pulled from your stores to help other stores due to lack of reps in that territory (and no, you will not get any special recognition for your flexibility and teamwork mindset) 13. This is a job that any human over the age of 12 could do, so do yourself a favor and use your COLLEGE DEGREE in a more rewarding job than this 14. They may hire you saying "you'll be working in Dallas!" but put you in the 5 furthest stores from Dallas (2-3 hours away) 15. Overnight resets happen occasionally and they will expect you to work the next day 16. They offer only 2-3 chances of overtime opportunity a year 17. They don't disclose the fact that a promotion for marketing puts you in either Milwaukee, WI or Anderson, SC -- so be prepared to relocate if you want that 18. If you do get promoted, expect a pay increase of only $5K-$7K extra pay 19. If you get promoted to a Territory Manager position, you will be working very long hours (50-65 hours and get paid roughly $58K) 20. They do sales contests, but depending on the territory you are given will determine whether you win or not. Some stores with ZERO reps inside have won 1st place, which proves that the contests mean nothing. Its all based on how well that store(s) do in sales -- not based on the reps hard work. 21. You will see the other reps on your team maybe 5 times a year, the rest of the time is spent alone in your store. ZERO company culture. Its just you and the depot. My best advice for anyone looking into this job is to RUN FAR AWAY and don't waste a SINGLE minute with this company if you want to further your career in sales or marketing!!!

Pros

literally 0 pros to this job. run as fast as you can.

Cons

1. The recruiters lie straight to your face about what this job is. 2. You are in a Home Depot, Target, or Walmart 40 hours a week. 3. You are basically shoved into a retail environment to fight for space for your product (power tools, vacuums, etc). 4. no part of this work is fulfilling, and most days you will leave feeling miserable. 5. Management likes to catch you doing things wrong, instead of attempting to work with you and recognize your hard work. 6. They flaunt how fast reps get promoted, but it's a blatant lie. 7. If you're a girl, get ready to be harassed 24/7 at the Home Depot. 8. upper leadership & corporate is embarrassingly toxic.
