Pros

Fantastic coworkers who have your back and want you to succeed. Great (but somewhat informal) product training. The company is smaller, so it's easier to meet the people in charge. Decent pay and benefits. Neat swag, including the best coffee tumbler I've ever had in my life.

Cons

Don't buy into the "family" sentiment; it's just like any other corporation that sees workers as resources and numbers rather than human beings. You can have tremendous experience and be invaluable to your team, and be repaid with a layoff with absolutely no advance warning or time to find new employment. Your job is emphatically not safe, and your job security is smoke and mirrors. Just in 2022 alone they've hired managers that don't interact with their teams in Slack, only watch meaningless "metrics," and invent policies that have nothing to do with solving customer issues and do absolutely nothing to help the customer experience. I guess that distance from your peons makes it easier to choose someone to lay off if you don't have to get to know them as a person. The bigwigs will have their faux-avuncular Google Meet town halls, where they will assure you that there won't be layoffs, then the company will quietly lay you off on a random Thursday a few weeks later, effective immediately, whilst refusing to tell you why your name was chosen, and remotely wipe your computer as their third-party HR callously tells you that "you'll be better off for it." And then no one — not your aloof manager, nor the executives who "befriended" you, nor the co-CEO you went to high school with — will even reach out to see if you'll be okay. Congratulations, Tekmetric has unpersoned you. I really and truly thought Tekmetric would be different and would fight for its workforce, but I guess I was just too stupid to realize that they're a soulless company just like every other one I've worked for. They're only better at hiding it.

Pros

The culture isn’t completely toxic There are some nice people

Cons

They care more about customers than employees to a large extent. They did not care if a customer treated an employee terribly, as long as ultimately the customer got their way. There was such lack of clarity on everything, getting any information on anything I needed for a customer was a shitshow of just hoping someone else would know. Ultimately, management was not supportive. Fostered an environment on the team where people threw each other under the bus rather than supporting each other. Ultimately felt treated terribly on the onboarding team, and would not recommend for anyone to join based on my experience at this company and how I feel I was treated. You can easily make more money doing something similar somewhere else. Particularly if you are remote, I was completely isolated from my team who was all hired in person after me which put me in a disadvantaged, uncomfortable position. The company could be worse, but it could be a lot better, so I’d say go find a similar role at a company that will treat you more as a person and will pay you more.

Pros

Very nice team members. I can always count on them to help if I have any questions.

Cons

Management is a mess. No structure or direct chain of command process to follow. There is no true “HR” department/leader presence in the office when we come into town for meetings or on a regular basis from what we have observed. This team of three all work remote even the manager which lives 20 min from the office. They are not involved with the team nor in sync with employees that truly live in other cities and work remote. Managers/Leaders just do whatever they want. There is no follow through to communicate changes or new processes to the account team as a whole it’s communicated to some at some time and the rest as one off’s or when a situation arises.
