Pros

- Relaxed atmosphere: Managers allow flexible schedules for employees that are attending school. - Friendly Co-Workers: Everyone is friendly with each other, jovial atmosphere. - Competitive pay scale: most likely based on the cost of living for Ventura County, but the wages are better for comparable positions offered in Los Angeles County. - Great benefits: Blue Shield PPO, flexible spending accounts, Healthcare savings accounts, lots of options are offered.

Cons

-Silo effect among the divisions. No communication or sharing of resources among work groups. Many problems could be solved if program managers simply talked to each other. -"Us versus them" mentality amongst the divisions: some divisions have a "were better than you" attitude. -Smaller divisions have limited operating budget and no possibility for advancement: in some divisions, don't count on getting promoted unless someone leaves, dies, or retires. -Limited possibilities for intra-divisional transfers. Qualified employees that wish to transfer to a new open position within Teledyne are ignored in favor of new-hires off the street. -Some divisions are vulnerable to government sequestration (layoffs): 80% of Teledyne's divisions are almost entirely dependent on government funding.

Pros

You will move on to your next offer without any regrets.

Cons

1. Overwhelming Workload and Toxic Management: Daily, employees face an excessive number of requests with minimal to no training provided. As the company frequently dismisses experienced staff, new employees are left without a go-to for guidance, struggling to meet unattainable expectations. The management's lack of empathy and unreasonable demands make it feel like you're treated less than human. The threat of termination hangs over your head if you don't immediately adapt to these harsh conditions. 2. Lack of Benefits and Work-Life Balance: The company offers no substantial benefits and nearly non-existent work-life balance. The systems in place are outdated, and rather than improving efficiency, the focus seems to be on endless management changes and pointless meetings. Managers lack a fundamental understanding of the tasks they assign, expecting employees to work overtime on new projects without clear directions. This often leads to mental exhaustion being a norm, and if you manage to endure, it indicates larger underlying issues. Final Thought: Even if you are in desperate need of a job, I would advise looking elsewhere. The stress and mental toll are not worth the minimum wage, as it likely won't cover the therapy you'll need from working here. Consider this a warning to steer clear of this place.
