Pros

Some of the people I worked with were smart and hardworking.

Cons

Unethical. Said they were not going to lay off after Peloton but laid off significant workforce. Required their own employees to buy Studios, which is over $2,000. Totally illegal. No one uses the gym because no one has time. All work no culture. Favoritism is rampant. Very political. Founders are too inexperienced. Not transparent and uncaring. Looking to sell and exit one day, not IPO. Feels like they're always pinching pennies and cutting costs where they can. Worst food.

Pros

Glassdoor requires a 5 word minimum for Pros, so: Some coworkers are really smart.

Cons

We just went through layoffs of nearly the entire marketing and US customer support teams, which led to more people resigning, including 2 of the 3 women at the VP level. Leadership refuses to acknowledge Tempo's high attrition rate and says things like "this is expected with a startup" and "those who want to be here will work hard." Morale is at an all time low, the 5-star reviews here are likely falsified to try and improve our rating. Dozens of people across the company are actively interviewing, others have left with nothing else lined up because of how terrible the environment is. Gender determines whether or not leadership will listen to your input. If you're "chums" with the founders, you can fail to launch projects and still somehow get promoted to oversee departments, even if you don't have any experience in that space.

Pros

Above market salary to justify the amount of work they will have you perform. Investment by top VCs in valley

Cons

This is a huge list. Everyone who works or used to work at Tempo will tell you these common elements: 1) Burnout culture: They want you to work long hours on weekdays and there is always weekend work. Taking time off or sick leaves is frowned upon. Unlimited PTO is only for the papers, nobody takes much time off here as they keep on firing people. 2) Fear based toxic work environment: Due to constant firings, which is higher leadership driven people are afraid and the attrition rate in this company is very high. 3) Poor higher leadership: There is a no-trust and high micromanagement culture driven from CEO, CTO, CMO and everyone in leadership position. They constantly doubt you or your work. HR is useless and doesn't do anything to improve the work culture. 4) Short lived fame: The product is driven by pandemic issue, once the pandemic is over the sales of the product will take major hits which means layoffs in this company are always certain. 5) In-Office work: They want people to come to office 3 -4 days a week even in the middle of pandemic. There was a covid outbreak in office and it's still open. They don't trust that people can do their jobs better at home. Think carefully while accepting a job from here, they don't care about you.
