      Pros

      You meet a lot of people from all over the country

      Cons

      No opportunity for growth, they will get rid of you as soon as they are done with you. People in management have no idea what they are doing.

      Pros

      Lots of fieldwork opportunities especially if you like to travel. Great benefits at minimal cost.

      Cons

      Low PTO accrual rate and PTO must be used for holidays. Big corporate company, not a lot of interaction between departments and many people didn’t make much of an effort to be friendly. There were several occasions where I was asked to travel for fieldwork on very short notice, sometimes a day in advance.

      Pros

      Large company means wide array of potential projects. I was part time so I worked at an hourly rate with per diem when on projects greater than 50 miles from home.

      Cons

      Getting a feeling of tightening here at the moment. Expense reports are being scrutinized more, I hear of full time employees being furloughed/let go. I worked on disaster remediation and was working 11+ hours 7 days a week for weeks at a time, then had as much time off as I wanted to.
