Pros

They had a good coffee bar. In all seriousness, the co-workers were great.

Cons

Upper management was cold and archaic. Little to no advancement. Read other reviews that mention poor vacation time. Forced to use your vacation time to make up for periods when you are slow with project work.

International Field Staff for Tetra Tech DPK

Pros

Interesting experience abroad; good way to gain experience and propel my career forward.

Cons

1. They did not provide clear information on reimbursement for very large expenses. While traveling, at times I was expected to front $1,000 on my own credit card for hotels, only to be paid back a month later. 2. Poor communication. It was only when I was having major problems in the field and felt like my life was threatened that the staff in California spoke with me and tried to help. 3. They hire global staff, send them out, and rely on smaller contractors to do everything else. Lack of support. 4. Payments were not a direct deposit; they had to send a check to my home in the USA, and a friend had to deposit them. This led to a great lag in my funds, and I often went two months without pay. They also messed up my payment once, and this really threatened my livelihood. 5. Lack of awareness what is happening in the field. My boss was incompetent and a bully, but no one from the company would have known this, even if I reported it, because it would have been one word against another. Lack of checks and balances.

Pros

Nothing to be honest. The flexibility of time work which you can find it in any other companies also. If you have a choice to pick this company or other consulting, I would recommend to pick the other one. I don't have any good experience with this company as a younger engineer.

Cons

Management on IEW group. Worst place to start a career and low benefit. I definitely would not recommended the company. In the past couple months all the senior engineers left because of the poor management. The pay is low also. When they work load is low they force you to take time off.Worst place I have ever worked for. IEW group management is the worst. As a junior engineer they throw me under the bus to cover their own mistakes on the project budget. Benefits are low and all of federal holidays is on your PTO time.
