Pros

Tetra Tech has some great staff members, but the management is terrible.

Cons

The company is 100 small acquisitions that each operates as a separate entity. This creates a lot of confusion and it prevents sharing of knowledge and expertise across the company. Working there is similar to working at a small regional firm except your clients expect big firm capabilities.

Hierarchichal, transactional, old boy's club

Pros

Sharp young people who work hard on administrative, logistical, and operational tasks; they are clearly overworked but remain friendly and caring. They probably won't stay with Tetra Tech long, but it is likely a good learning experience for them. The women with whom I worked, in particular, were accessible and efficient in a professional yet personable manner.

Cons

The leadership is hierarchical, transactional, and uncaring. The circle at the top does not seem to bother speaking with, hearing from, or listening to people in the field. In my case, they did not condescend to even meet me even though I was hired for a relatively high level field position. Their focus seems to be solely on the bottom line.

Pros

The salary is good and the people I work with are wonderful.

Cons

Poor management in my department. Overworked and under appreciated. The company does not care if you have been there 20 plus years, they will lay you off and hire someone for less money. We aren't expected to have a life other than Tetra Tech. Since this is a consulting firm, we have to be billable and if we aren't we are threatened that we could be "let go" and this causes a lot of stress.
