Not as great as they think they are

Pros

Name recognition, ok benefits, ok pay

Cons

Each entity is completely different. Definitely no “brand recognition”. 6:1 patient ratio at the Denton location, which makes it impossible to provide quality care with empathy- i guess this explains their very poor scores. Always short staffed. At Southwest, the management is less than caring about staff and only concerned with managements pay. At HEB the ortho trauma floor has a manager who is completely unqualified and childish. She locks herself in her office because she’s in a bad mood at least 3 days per week. She makes snide comments about employees in front of other employees which creates a very un-unified team. At Fort Worth/downtown- they never have enough staff and try squeezing nurses and techs for more and more with less and less.

Pros

THR offers great benefits such as affordable medical insurance, 401k, PTO accrual system. Best healthcare system I've been apart of. Decent pay. Large network.

Cons

Low merit increases, Hard to promote within without the fear of retaliation. Not enough pay for job duties assigned, if you continue adding on job duties then think about a title change so the compensation matches the job performed.

Not what it seems

Pros

Great benefits, Faith based, some great people.

Cons

Smoke and mirrors. There are some really great people in upper management and then there are some people who don’t even deserve to clean toilets with the way they treat people. Bullying by physicians is known and tolerated and the people who really try and make a difference are shut down. HR, is a total joke from the top down. Once you are in management you get a clear picture of how much of a sham the faith based promise culture really is. It’s all about money and politics.
