Pros

1. Technical knowledge among coworkers is there, tap into it on your own 2. Size of company lends to opportunities to move within organizations 3. Internal diversity organizations to build your personal network 4. Diverse roles and expectations per PE/TE depending on your group

Cons

Advancement and opportunities are more dependent on your timing (joining the group), mentorship (find one), your soft skills (like-ability, communications, appearance) and your internal management's capability to advocate your skills, rather than your technical skills and work ethic alone. It's a very inaccurate expectation to think that performance and hard work alone pays off in any corporate culture. This is not a TI specific "con" its a hard lesson for all employees of any larger corporations.
